Please note: Carer Feed is available on most of Birdie’s packages, excluding Entry. The Notes feature is available on the majority of Birdie packages, excluding Starter, Entry, and Care Management only packages. Please get in touch if interested in more information on this feature!

The carer feed is the equivalent of the client feed but focuses solely on the Care Professionals' needs and visits. This feature allows you to centralise and log carer-related information in one place including notes for compliments, complaints and more.

This feature will further support your auditing workflow when it comes to auditing at the Care Professional level for visits, reports alerts but also more broadly such as evidencing the care professional is Well-Led to the CQC.

Please note: Information on the Carer feed is only visible on the Agency hub to admins, this means that this information will not be shown on the app to Care Recipients and their care circle or, Care professionals.

Within the Carer Feed, you will be able to see:

  1. Visit logs associated with this specific Care Professional

  2. Alerts that have been raised for or are associated with this specific Care Professional

  3. Notes to record non-visit information such as compliments, complaints, and third-party interactions and more

  4. Actions to view and prioritise any actions related to this individual Care Professional

How to locate the Carer Feed

Go to the Team tab and select the Care Professional you wish to view. The Carer Feed is located on the left-hand menu and will be the second option directly under Basic info.

How to view Visit logs in Carer Feed

Within the Carer Feed, you can click on any visit card you would like to get more detail on. You will be able to see the visit details, Care Recipient, alerts, activities, observations and timeline of this specific visit.

  • Details: This shows all the details such as check-in and check-out time, total visit time, client location and more

  • Alerts: These give you the ability to see all the alerts that have been raised during this specific visit

  • Activities: This page allows you to see the tasks and medications that have been completed on the visit

  • Observation: These include any observations that have been logged during this specific visit, such as the Care Recipient’s mood, toilet visits, drink and fluid intake and more

  • Care team: This page shows the Care Professionals assigned to this visit and any preferred Care Professionals

How to view Alerts in Carer Feed

Click on any alert card you would like to get more detail on. Once in the specific alert card, you will be able to see the alert details, any comments that have been added, and a timeline which will include an audit trail of changes to this alert.

When you click on Details, you can see all the details associated with this alert, including status of the alert, category of the concern, severity of the concern, and privacy settings.

Under Comments, you will be able to see any existing comments as well as have the ability to post a new one if you would like.

How to create Notes

Notes allow you to record non-visit information such as compliments, complaints, and general interactions - and more! At the moment it is not possible to attach a photo to the Carer feed.

To add a new one, click Add new note located at the top centre of the screen and select the note types from the drop-down menu.

There are 6 types of notes:

  • Complaint

  • Compliment

  • General notes

  • Introduction

  • Check-in call

  • Audit

Once you have selected the note type, you will be able to record the details of the note itself. You will also be asked to add a Title, which is mandatory. You can also add any further details you would like to describe and give context to the note. Click Save when you are done.

If you would like to make a change to the note, click on the relevant note and the Edit button will appear at the bottom of the page.

How to view Actions in the Carer Feed

On the Carer Feed, you will also be able to see any Actions associated with this individual care professional. You can click on any action card to get more detail.

Once in the specific card, you’ll be able to see the action details, status, who it's assigned to, as well as a timeline of this specific action. You'll also see any tags it's been tagged with.

For more on Actions, including how to create them, read here.

How to filter through the Carer Feed

On the Carer Feed you will see ‘all results’ by default however you will also have the option to click into each of the specific categories (Alerts, Visits, Notes). But if you would like to find more specific results, you can use additional Filters.

To use even more filters, click the + More filters button. This will pull up an ‘Advanced filters’ screen.

Here, you will be able to filter the results based on a variety of things, including:

  • Date range

  • Client

  • Alerts

    • Medication alerts

    • Visit alerts

How to view who posted a comment

If you want to see who has made a comment on anything in the carer feed you can do this by clicking on the Timeline tab. Here you can see information on who has created a Note or comment as well as the date and timestamp.

This information is not editable, it is to provide a real-time audit of who is making changes on your agency hub. You will also not see this information if the visit is unscheduled.
