How to Create Invoice Groups

You can now create and filter by Invoice Groups within Birdie.

When it comes to invoices, we know you may have different invoice cycles for different types of care - or for different funders. As a result, we have made it easy to filter down the information to find exactly what you need when generating and viewing invoices!

You are able to add an invoice group to any contract within Birdie, and then filter within both the Invoice Dashboard and Invoice Tab to pull up a list of invoices just for that specific group.

Creating an invoice group for existing contracts

Click on the Finance tab and then select the Payer Contracts tab.

To add an invoice group to an existing contract, search and click on the name of an existing contract. Click Edit on the contract.

On this page, you can add the invoice group by selecting an existing group or by typing a new group into the box. When you input a new value or group name, it will be stored in a dropdown list for the next person to pick from.

When you are done, click the Save button. This invoice group will then be reflected on the contract.


Creating an invoice group for new contracts

To create an invoice group for a new contract start by selecting a payer and clicking on the Add Contract button.

Add the relevant information to the contract, for more guidance on how to do this, please see this article - How to Add & Edit Contract Information.

In the Invoice group section, input a value or group name, it will then get stored in a dropdown list for the next person to pick from.

When you are done, click the Save button. This invoice group will then be reflected on the contract.

A recommended set of groups would be creating a 'Weekly', 'Monthly' and a 'Fortnightly' group to the extent that you need all of these options.

Please note: you will need to add an Invoice Group to each contract you want available as part of that group or filter.


How do I filter by Invoice Group?

Once you have entered the Invoice Groups into your contracts, you can then filter them within the Finance tab. You can do this in two places:

1) Within the Invoice Dashboard (Select Period option) - this allows you to create a batch of invoices based on that group.

2) Within the Invoice Tab - this allows you to download and/or send that group of Invoices.
