Birdie has two rostering experiences: Legacy Rostering and our Rostering, also referred to as upgraded rostering.

Some Help Centre articles are written for one version or the other, so it’s important to know which version your agency is using before following the steps in an article.
Quick answer
You’re on rostering if you see areas such as:
Visit template and visit calendar
Activity template and activity calendar
Snapshot of a client's visit template:
Snapshot of the roster tab:
You’re most likely using legacy rostering if your client area is centred around:
Visits with the ability to drag and drop medications and tasks into visit cards
Snapshot of the visits within a client profile:

If you’re in the middle of moving from legacy rostering to upgraded rostering, you may temporarily see both versions in Birdie.
What are the two versions?
Legacy Rostering
Legacy rostering is Birdie’s original rostering experience. Some agencies may still use this version, especially if they have not yet moved across.
Rostering
Rostering is Birdie’s newer rostering experience. It includes newer workflows designed to make scheduling, templating, and managing visits more flexible.
In some parts of Birdie or the Help Centre, this may also be referred to as:
Upgraded Rostering
Birdie has been investing in a newer version of rostering to support improved templating, better weekly context, more flexible visit planning, and newer features such as runs and timeline functionality.
What if I can see both versions?
This can happen during a migration period, where your agency may still be delivering care through the original roster while also preparing schedules in the newer version before full migration.
If you can see both versions, check with your manager, customer success manager, or Birdie partner care team before making changes. They can confirm which version your agency should currently use for live scheduling.
Which Help Centre article should I follow?
Always follow the article that mirrors your set-up on the agency hub, to get the most accurate information.
Still not sure?
