If your Care Recipient has the capabilities to administer their own medication or has family that supports them to do this you can still add any prescribed medication onto their medication manager without confusing your Care Professionals.
How does it work?
There are three ways to mark that the Care Recipient self-administers their medication or does not require support from a Care Professional.
Via the Clinical Details tab
Via Personal details in the Medication tab
Via the Medication tab for a new Care Recipient
When you select We provide medicine support, your Care professionals will have to record each time they help your Care Recipient with their medication.
When you select self-administers their medication, your Care professionals are not required to record when your Care Recipient takes their medication during their visit.
You will be able to see their medication administration status when going to the Medication tab. If you need to change this, you can do this by clicking the yellow banner. You will then be taken to a page where you can update this status.
Via the Clinical Details Tab
First, select the Care Recipient and go to their About Me tab. Then, click on Clinical details.
Click any of the Edit buttons on the right-hand side. Under Health details, you will see the Medical Support section.
Select 'We do not provide Medicine support' and click Submit when you are done.
Via the Medication Tab
First, select the Care Recipient and go to their Medication tab. Then, click on Personal details.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and find Medicines support. Here, you can select if you are giving your Care Recipient medicine support or if they are self-administering their medication.
To finish, click on Save Changes.
Via the Medication Tab for a New Care Recipient
First, select the Care Recipient and go to their Medication tab. If you have not entered any medication information for them you will need to add some information regarding:
Allergies
Dr Details
Pharmacy details
Medicines support
Once you have filled in the details, you can select 'We do not provide Medicine support' and click Save Changes.
