Please note: The following feature is available for all of Birdie’s packages.
A double-up visit is sometimes required for Care recipients who need extra support, it enables the Care professionals to carry out their care tasks safely. You can have a maximum of 4 Care professionals assigned to a visit.
How do I know if my visit is a double-up call?
Please note: If you are using Birdie without a rostering integration, you will not be able to tell if your visit is a double-up call as the app doesn't display your rota and visits. You will need to contact your care agency in order to find out if you have any double-up visits.
If you are using Birdie integrated with a rostering system, you will be able to see all scheduled visits on the Birdie app including any double-up calls.
Once you log into your Birdie app, click on your Visits tab, here you will be able to see all the visits for the day. A double-up visit is indicated by a person icon and a number, in this case, 2.
Click on the icon to see who you will be paired with. Although you will be able to see which visit is a double-up, the second Care professional's name will only be visible to you on the actual day of the visit.
How to complete a double-up visit report
You will both need to check-in and out of the visit on the app, However, only one Care Professional needs to record medication and tasks on their app. You will need to decide between the two of you who will be responsible for that.
If you are the Care Professional who did not record the medication, you may wish to include in your general notes that you witnessed administration. However, you do not need to (and should not) record an outcome before checking out of the visit.
If you are using a rostering integration and have a double-up call scheduled, you will see this pop-up message appear reminding you of the above.
