Please note: This feature is available on all Birdie packages.
If you work across more than one branch, you can see all your visits for the day in one place in the Birdie app. It doesn’t matter which branch you’re logged into or which branch the visit was scheduled under. You only need to switch branches when you’re ready to start a visit.
Seeing visits from other branches
Your Visits screen shows every visit you’re assigned to. If a visit belongs to a different branch from the one you’re logged into, you’ll see a switch icon (two boxes with arrows) on the right-hand side of that visit.
If you tap a visit with this icon, the app will ask you to switch to the correct branch before you can open it.
How to switch branches
On the Visits screen, tap the profile icon in the top left corner.
Under your name, tap Switch agency.
A list of all the branches you have access to will appear. The branch you’re logged into has a blue tick. Tap the branch you want to switch to.
The app will reload and show a message confirming the switch, for example “Successfully switched to [branch name]”.
Enter your passcode to continue.
You’ll then go back to your Visits screen, logged into the new branch. Visits from your new branch will open as normal. Visits from any other branch will now show the switch icon.
Visits further ahead with another branch
Each branch chooses how far ahead it shares visits in the app. For example, one branch might share 7 days ahead and another 14 days. You can only open the days covered by the branch you’re logged into.
To make this clearer, the calendar at the top of the Visits screen now shows:
A solid dot: you have visits that day that you can view.
A hollow circle: you have visits that day with another branch, but they’re further ahead than your current branch shares.
If you tap a day with a hollow circle, you’ll see a message such as “You have visits on Sat 31 Oct with another agency. Switch agency to view them.” Follow the steps below to switch to that branch and see those visits.
If you tap a day further ahead than your current branch shares, and you have no visits with another branch that day, you’ll see “Your agency shares visits up to [date].” This means your branch hasn’t shared visits for that day yet. It doesn’t mean something has gone wrong.
Good to know
The branch you’re logged into is shown under your name on your profile screen.
You’ll only see the branches you’ve been given access to. If a branch is missing, speak to your office team.
This works automatically on all care professionals’ phones running app version 10.45.1 or higher. If you can’t see visits from other branches, update the Birdie app.
