Please note: The following feature is available for all of Birdie’s packages.

Documenting key personal details for your Clients in Birdie means that valuable information is readily available to you at the click of a button.

Those details are also accessible by your care staff directly in their app. It means your care staff always has the right information such as how to locate or enter the property of your Client or to know their DNAR status. Learn more here

In the case of an emergency, you can securely share this information with other health professionals, thanks to our third-party access portal. Learn how to do this here.

Note: make sure to keep this information up to date and to make changes whenever it is required so that everyone involved in the care of your Client has the latest information at hand.

How to add future planning details to your Client's profile

Go to the Client list and select the Client, from here select the Client Information tab. Now click on the Future planning tab and click Edit to start adding details.

On this page, you can add details about future planning such as:

  • Capacity and documentation

  • Health and Welfare LPA

  • Property and Financial Affairs LPA

  • Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNACPR)

  • Advance Decision to Refuse Treatment (ADRT / Living Will)

  • Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment (ReSPECT)

When you have finished entering information on this page click Submit.

Where to add DNACPR information

You can add DNACPR-specific information under the Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNACPR) section of this page including where it is kept.

*DNACPR stands for Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. It means that your client has stipulated that they do not want to have cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If something serious happens, they’d rather let nature take its course. If your client has opted for a DNAR order, as a healthcare professional, you must follow their wishes in all circumstances.

How to add a Power of Attorney

You can add Power of Attorney details under the Health and Welfare LPA and Property and Financial Affairs LPA sections. This is where you can mention whether your Client has the capacity to make their own decisions and if they have a legal power of attorney for their health and well-being.

If your Client has a lasting power of attorney for Health and Welfare, you can add their contact details in the Key contact/NOK section.

You can also add them to the Care circle so that they can receive real-time updates. For more information on how to do this, see this article - How to invite members to the Care Circle.

Future Planning information and the Birdie app

All future planning information you add for a Client will be visible in the app for a Carer to view. This is why it is important to keep this information up to date.

Your Carers can view this information by going to the Client's Care plan and tapping on About (Client name).
