Please note: The following feature is available for all of Birdie’s packages.

There are a lot of reasons why as a Care professional you need to have access to your Care recipient's personal information. You might want to know their address before visiting them, or their phone number to contact them beforehand. You are also legally required to know if they have opted for a DNACPR order or not, so you can make the right decision in case of an emergency.

With the Birdie app, it is quick and easy to access this information. It's also a secure way to hold this information somewhere that is only accessible by you or pre-approved people involved in the care of your Care recipient.

Please Note: Your care manager will be the one entering those details in the system. If you believe there is an error or that something needs to be changed, please contact them directly and quickly. It's important that those details stay up to date.

What information can I see on the app before checking in?

Before checking into a visit for a Care Recipient you will be able to the following information:

  • Upcoming Visits for that Care Recipient

  • Who previously visited the Care Recipient

  • Address

  • GP information

  • About me information

  • Assessments/care plans

  • Clinical details

  • Access information (key safe etc)

  • Highlights

Please note: The information above depends on whether this has been entered on the agency hub.

How to access your Care recipient's information

On the app, go to your Care recipient list by tapping on Clients at the bottom of the screen. Then scroll through the list or search for your selected Care recipient.

Once you have found them, click on the Care plan button in the top right corner of your screen. Here you can quickly see the personal information regarding your Care recipient, including any allergies and their DNACPR status.

You will be able to see the Care recipient's address and any additional details on how to enter the property. You can click the highlighted address which will take you to Google Maps.

To see more information about your Care recipient, click on the About (Care recipient name) tab. Here you can see more details about any DNACPR, ADRT or ReSPECT documents that they may have under the Future Planning tab.

What is DNACPR?

DNACPR stands for Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. It means that your Care recipient has stipulated that they do not want to have cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Most people sign a Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation form (DNACPR) because they are already unwell, and have decided that, if something serious happens, they would rather let nature take its course. If your Care recipient has opted for a DNACPR order, as a healthcare professional, you must follow their wishes in all circumstances.
