Customising your Settings on Birdie

A list of optional features to help you customise your experience of the Birdie app and Agency Hub

Some features in Birdie can be enabled or updated depending on the way you prefer to work.

If you would like to update any of the below settings to suit your needs, then message us on the live chat or email [email protected] or contact your account or onboarding manager directly.

Passcode timeout

Control how long it takes for the app to lock and show the passcode screen when not being used.

View care plan documents in-app

This allows Care Professionals to view any PDF, .jpeg, .png files you upload in the care plan.

Display key contacts in-application

This allows Care Professionals to see the emergency key contact details of the Care recipient in the app (name and phone number).

NHS Covid-19 symptom checker

The official NHS 111 coronavirus symptom checker in the Birdie app, so the advice provided is based on the most up-to-date information from Public Health England, Government, and the NHS.

Multiple check-in

Care professionals can check in with a combination of geo-location & QR code, or choose one or the other, just let us know.

Both options are free and geo check-in happens automatically meaning a smooth and easy process for your care team.

Geolocation check-in

Automatically confirm care workers' location when they check-in to a visit.

Care recipient Settings

QR code check-in

The Care Professional confirms their location by scanning a QR code that is kept in the care recipient's home.

Display logo in agency documents

View and update your agency logo. Your logo will be visible on Care Recipient documents.

Set rota visibility

Control how many days in advance your Care Professional can view their visits.

Visit not started in time alerts

You will be alerted if a Care Professional has not checked into the visit within a certain timeframe.

Let us know how much time to allow before the alert is triggered.

Justify the visit duration discrepancy

This asks the Care Professionals to give a reason if they have checked out of a visit sooner or later than the scheduled duration.

Tell us how many minutes early or late a Care Professional can be before you require a reason (default 15 mins.)

Care Circle members to view Assessments on the app

This allows care circle members to view their loved ones' care plans via the family app. This is turned off by default and consent forms need to be signed by the family before enabling.

This allows care circle members to view their loved ones' rota via the family app. This is turned off by default and consent forms need to be signed by the family before enabling.

Manage Care recipients' care team

This allows any admins to manage the care team, which is usually set automatically based on visit data from your rostering provider.

Remove link if no visit

This means we automatically unlink a Care Professional from a Care Recipient if they don't have a visit scheduled.

OTP check-in

Allows Care Professionals to use One Time Passcode devices to check into calls (can be with another check-in method e.g. geolocation).

This is only available to agencies who use CarePlanner for rostering.

Visit planning

Visit Planning is a group of features that help to plan Care recipient visits. It guides a Care Professional on the exact tasks and medications they need to complete on a visit. The biggest benefit of Visit Planning is that medication outcomes must be recorded to check out of a visit.

You can turn this on under the Settings section for each Care Recipient

Date Groups

Date Groups will give you the flexibility to set enhanced rates for selected holidays such as Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Holiday pay beta reports

The Holiday Pay reports will help you to accurately pay your Care Professionals for the holiday that they have accrued while logging time via the Birdie app.

Finance timesheets in the Birdie app

Allows Care Professionals to view their visits that have been confirmed and are ready for payroll.
